  • Make secure payments on websites with the MasterCard SecureCode logo (on the right).
  • Use the card exclusively for purchases on websites of reputable companies.
  • For this payment method, thoroughly verify the reliability of the recipient and read the payment conditions provided (return policy, membership fees, etc.), as well as whether it has a certain form of data protection.
  • Before making a payment, read all transaction notifications and familiarize yourself with the terms you are accepting at that moment. Sometimes, in fine print, there may be purchasing conditions that are unfavorable to you.
  • Avoid making purchases using computers with public access (Internet cafes).
  • Never enter your PIN for the payment card online.
  • Never respond to emails or click on links requesting information from your payment card, even if they appear to be sent by the bank or card organization (MasterCard...).
  • The bank will never ask you to provide details from your payment card.
  • The bank will never ask you to provide your PIN.
  • If the accepting location lacks additional protection, does not require entry of the CVC/CVV2 number, or if there is any doubt about the payment conditions, do not proceed with the payment.
  • For Card Not Present transactions, use a debit card that supports this payment method.
  • Regularly check the balances of your accounts and the available balance on your card;

What does option 3D SECURE mean?

3D Secure is a completely free service provided by the bank, ensuring additional security when making online purchases with Mastercard cards through websites that are part of the Mastercard SecureCode system.

This service will protect your Mastercard cards from potential misuse during online purchases. All you need for worry-free shopping is:

  • MasterCard debit card from Zapad Bank
  • An online store that supports payment through MasterCard SecureCode

In addition to being completely free, this service is very easy to activate. When making an online purchase, a 3D Secure dialog box appears on the screen, verifying whether the card is enrolled in the secure shopping program. You receive a one-time OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS to the mobile phone number registered with Zapad Bank. The password is single-use, meaning a new one is sent for each subsequent purchase.

You can use the 3D Secure service with your existing Mastercard card on any computer or mobile phone, without the need for additional software or applications.

Thanks to this service, as a user, you have full control over the card's usage, preventing its misuse. Additionally, the user has insight into the transfer of personal data between them and the bank, which is inaccessible to the web merchant. All online payments are made using an activation code or password known only to the cardholder.

In case you forget your password or activation code, or in situations where three consecutive incorrect entries occur, the service is blocked. In such cases, it is necessary to call the Authorization Center at tel: +382(020) 690 069 to enable further use of this service.
